Soils To Grow was started in 1990 by a landscaper who was desperate for good soils and amendments for his projects. He knew that healthy soil is essential to the success of any landscape or garden, and this led to the idea of making his own materials, from select raw ingredients. Professional success would reward his efforts, and failure would mean losing clients! A lot depended on a good outcome.
Using his own experience and advice from soil labs and university experts, he formulated mixes with a small rented tractor and a pickup truck converted to a dump-truck. After the necessary period of trial-and-error, the materials he made were ready for his professional landscape projects - and they were a smash hit! Soon, other landscapers were asking if this material was available for sale, and a new business was born - Soils To Grow Landscape Supply.
